Christmas baking is one of my favorite things to do during the holidays! I love to get out recipes my parents, grandma, or cousins have taught me to make over the years. Of course, new recipes are fun to try as well, which is why I’m sharing this family favorite cookie classic with you!
If you love the slight cherry-taste of Almond Extract, a vintage or retro Christmas recipe, and the buttery goodness of a sweet shortbread-like cookie, you’ll enjoy Candy Cane Cookies as part of your Christmas baking line-up. They were always fun to make with my mom or my grandma; the grown-ups can put the little ones to work gentle rolling the small swirled balls, or adding their thumbprints to place candied cherries inside each cookie.
